The Role
As Financial Controller, you are responsible for safeguarding the financial accuracy and compliance of both Value Maritime and Value Carbon. In a fast-evolving environment, you bring calm, clarity, and control. You are the guardian of the numbers and built the financial foundation that enables further growth.
While our organisation looks ahead and innovates, you ensure the fundamentals are solid.
Your areas of responsibility
- Preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Statutory reporting and compliance (IFRS/Dutch GAAP, tax, audits)
- Ensuring accuracy of the general ledger and safeguarding balance sheet integrity
- Cash management and cash flow reporting
- Liaison with auditors, tax authorities, and banks
- Identifying and mitigating financial risks
- Contributing to further professionalisation of financial processes and internal controls
What we are looking for:
- Approximately 10 years of experience (salary indication: €5.500 – 7.000 EUR per month based on level of experience)
- Financial (Masters) education such as Accounting, Finance & Control or Auditing
- Strong accounting and financial reporting skills
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Structured, disciplined and process driven
- Risk-aware, compliance-focused mindset
- Solid understanding of internal controls and governance, with a practical approach
- Experience in a project-based business environment
- Comfortable dealing with auditors, banks, and tax authorities
- Gets energy from working in a scale-up environment where structure is still being built
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
