Value Carbon recently hosted a series of Greenhouse Growth Demo Days at our greenhouse site in Vierpolders, marking a key milestone in the deployment of our carbon capture, usage, and storage (CCUS) technology.

The event brought together a broad group of stakeholders across the carbon value chain, including greenhouse owners, representatives from the Port of Rotterdam, government officials, regulators, and financiers. Attendees had the opportunity to see first-hand the progress we’re making in applying CCUS directly within the horticulture sector.
A central feature of the site is our catch & release system, which captures CO₂ at night and releases it during the day to support optimal plant growth. This significantly reduces reliance on fossil fuel-derived CO₂ and enables more sustainable greenhouse operations.
In addition, Value Carbon is now supplying captured CO₂ from ships to the greenhouse. This eliminates the need to burn natural gas for CO₂ enrichment, further lowering emissions while supporting the growth of high-quality crops. The tomatoes produced using this method are not only sustainable, they’re also delicious.
